Winter Newsletter

Welcome back from what I pray was a blessed Christmas season for you and yours.  As we break into the second semester there are a few things that I would like to highlight.

First, we are beginning a new venture by creating an Elementary Capital Fund.  As you have already seen, the calendar fundraiser that is beginning will provide our elementary school with much needed improvements and upgrades.  The elementary staff has worked hard in collaboration with myself and the school board to create a pathway that benefits the elementary students.  While this is an elementary campaign, all students will be filling their calendars out and having the opportunity to earn their rewards.  The deadline for this is February 16.  Plans are already underway to have some improvements starting/completed by August of this year.  Moving forward, we do plan to have the elementary capital fund fundraiser in the fall.  Thank you all in advance for your support in this venture.

Next, we are in full basketball season mode.  The junior varsity and varsity basketball teams are enjoying a good season to this point.  The last home game is on January 30.  Please come out and support our students and staff.  The varsity Lady Rebels and Rebels will advance to the South State tournament at Riverfield Academy beginning the week of February 5.  Good luck to our teams!  Earlier this month our school hosted the 5th and 6th grade basketball tournament.  The tournament was a great success as we hosted 10 other school from across the MAIS.  Having our new multi-purpose building in place allowed us to field this major event. Congratulations to all of the elementary teams on a good season and also to our 6th grade girls team who finished 2nd place in the tournament.  Baseball season is just around the corner with home games beginning the week of February 5.  Please check out our website and/or our socials to find a schedule.  Come out and support your Rebels!

Finally, early registration for the 2024-2025 school year begins next week.  Packets were mailed out yesterday and they will available in the office, as well as on our website.  Please remember to take advantage of the early registrations savings. Also, by using early registration, it helps us to plan for class size, teaching assignments, scheduling, and budgeting as early as possible.  ASC has been blessed to see enrollment grow each year for the last several years.  However, with limited physical space available many class sizes may be capped at a smaller number next year.  Therefor, please make sure that your child's spot is secured.  Early registration will open the morning of February 1.

Thank you again for the privilege to serve your family!

God Bless and Go Rebels!
